Its name came from an ancient Sardinian legend. It is told that the farmers, used to distill it unlawfully with basic alembic and used to hide it under the ground. And that’s why it is called “iron thread”: because to find the bottle again, under the soil, they used an iron thread to which the bottle with the spirit inside was tied.
